Is your roof ready for the rainy season?

We all know that it rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest and that combined with our mild temperatures means the potential for moss to develop on our roofs. At A2Z Roofing, we believe that moss belongs in the Olympic Peninsula’s rain forest and not on our roofs!

In our Pacific Northwest region, moss develops quickly and spreads between roofing shingles. It not only looks unattractive, but it eventually lifts up the shingles and it can be a cause for leaks to occur. The best way to deal with moss growth is to establish an anti-moss maintenance plan and that includes annual treatment.

Roof inspections are equally important. With early detection, we can identify and replace any failing roof sections and extend the life of your roof at the same time. Why worry about your roofs condition? An inspection by A2A Roofing will ensure that your roof is ready for our Pacific Northwest weather.

Oh no! We have a roof leak!

One of our clients woke up in the middle of the night realizing that there was water leaking from his ceiling! What happened he thought? It had snowed recently, but it had since turned to rain and more rain. He quickly realized that he had to do something to stop the leak in his ceiling! So, up on a ladder he went on a dark rainy night to secure his home. This is not only dangerous for an unexperienced homeowner to climb on a roof, it is simply not fun!

What we found upon inspection was the snow was not only slow to melt off the roof, but the original roof installation did not have the proper valley for the water to run to the gutter system. With improper roof installation, this is a good example of what can go wrong for a homeowner.

With a quality roof inspection and a maintenance plan, the life of your roof can be extended and save you money in the long run. Prevention is the best step in protecting your home.
